Whanganui is well represented with high quality and well maintained outdoor public spaces. Including examples of Edwardian stone structures, 1960's concrete brutalism, and a unique 1940s children's playground that has original features surviving to this day. There are also gardens of exotic and native plants providing worldwide settings all within a few minutes drive of the town centre.
